Sailors Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Jules Munshin are on shore leave and ready for fun in New York City in this Oscar-winning musical comedy. But they only have 24 hours in the Big Apple. Each finds romance quickly, and they're going to live every second to the hilt. Tunes include Come Up to My Place and, of course, New York, New York. Notable for its combination of studio and location filming, and described at the time as "the most inventive and effervescent musical thus far produced in Hollywood,” Kelly’s final partnership with Sinatra and co-direction with Stanley Donen was an instant success that stands as one of cinema’s most endearing musicals.
This series would not be possible without the generous support of Nina and H.G. Webb.
