Based on the book “Ouzeri Tsitsanis” by George Skarbadonis, this film portrays the forbidden and complicated love story between a Jewish girl (Estrea) and a Christian boy (George) during the German occupation of Thessaloniki in 1942.

The racist laws in Greeece have been implemented and the hunt for Jews is spreading. The only place to find refuge from the hatred is in the historic Ouzeri Tsitsanis, a small club run by the composer Vasilis Tsitsanis.  Here the great Tsitsanis fills the hearts and minds of people with the beautiful rebetika folk music. Despite the resistance, the lovers suddenly realize that simple choices become life-changing decisions.
