Little girls begging for food is an all too common sight in Honduras, one of the poorest countries in Central America. Two-thirds of children are malnourished and lack access to safe water, sanitation and education. Just less than half of Honduran children complete more than three years of education. The vision of Our Little Roses is to prepare these once frightened, destitute, and hungry girls to be integral members of society by caring for and raising them in an atmosphere of God's love, self-reliance and respect and providing the best educational opportunities available to them, ensuring they succeed in breaking the cycle of poverty, abuse and illiteracy from which they come.

Reverend Spencer Reece is an Episcopal Priest called to teach poetry to the girls. As the girls poetry opened their hearts to the world, the teacher's heart was transformed forever.
