Part of Weekend Classics and Halloween Horrors.

A dangerous drag race ends in tragedy as one of the cars careens off the side of a bridge leaving only a single survivor: Mary Henry (Candace Hilligoss). After emerging from the water seemingly unscathed, Mary retreats from her world when she takes a job as an organist at a small Utah church. Haunted by the traumatic event, she begins to see a ghastly apparition who seems to be beckoning her to a strange abandoned carnival at the edge of town. Delicately balanced between the worlds of reality and nightmares, this haunting and fiercely independent low-budget B-horror classic from director Herk Harvey has recently undergone a serious reassessment by many modern critics—who laud it for its depiction of a complex female protagonist who is suffering from what would now be classified as post-traumatic stress disorder.
