Hatidze lives with her ailing mother in the mountains of Macedonia, making a living cultivating honey using ancient beekeeping traditions. When an unruly family moves in next door, what at first seems like a balm for her solitude becomes a source of tension as they, too, want to practice beekeeping, while disregarding her advice. The most awarded film out of last year's Sundance Film Festival, HONEYLAND is an epic, visually stunning portrait of the delicate balance between nature and humanity that has something sweet for everyone.

"The opening minutes of HONEYLAND are as astonishing—as sublime and strange and full of human and natural beauty—as anything I’ve ever seen in a movie…. Quiet, intimate and intense, but touched with a breath of epic grandeur. It’s a poem including history.” —A.O. Scott, New York Times

“…The documentary doesn’t teach us much about cultivating honey. At its heart, this film is a character study, a meditation on the life of a woman who has carved out a precarious existence in an unforgiving place.” —Maddie Oatman, Mother Jones

“…An unforgettable vérité character study and an intimate look at an endangered tradition…. The chronicle that Stefanov and Kotevska have distilled abounds in moments of unguarded discovery—moments that can be tender, humorous, rackety or serene.” —Sheri Linden, Hollywood Reporter
