“Throughout the ages, one hero has cowered above the rest…” That lovable, easily frightened Great Dane with the munchies, Scooby-Doo, makes his big-screen debut in this live-action/animation hybrid feature film adapted from a screenplay by current DC Studios head and admirable Troma alum James Gunn. Scooby accompanies the Mystery, Inc. crime-solving sleuths — Shaggy (Matthew Lillard), Fred (Freddie Prinze, Jr.), Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Velma (Linda Cardellini) — as they investigate a series of paranormal incidents at Spooky Island, a spring-break hot spot owned by Emile Mondavarious (Rowan Atkinson). Before the supernatural secrets scare away the college crowd, the gang must crack the case, save themselves — and, possibly, the world! Zoinks!

Finally arriving on the Belcourt big screen on glorious 35mm due to an outpouring of requests. Be afraid. Be kind of afraid.

“As live-action adaptations of cheap, unapologetically stupid cartoons go, this is top of the line: The cast is appealing, the sets brightly colored and fun to look at, the mystery as lame and goofy as any featured in the many inexplicably beloved Scooby-Doo cartoons.” —TV Guide

“You don't want to love this, but you will. Although SCOOBY-DOO falls far short of becoming the BLAZING SADDLES of Generations X, Y and Z, it is hard to resist in its moronic charms.” —Hank Stuever, Washington Post
