After the 1995 release of her Grammy award winning WRECKING BALL, Emmylou Harris formed a new 4-piece band, SPYBOY, to support her new musical direction. In 1998, after touring the world for more than two years, Emmylou recorded a live record, video and DVD, “Emmylou Harris: SPYBOY Live At The Legendary Exit/In.” New West Records has re-issued SPYBOY as a digitally remastered double vinyl LP with bonus tracks. AI technology has been utilized to upscale the original video to high definition, and the result is stunningly beautiful! The video features 10 tracks from the original SPYBOY album and is narrated by Emmylou as she shares stories about the band and the Wrecking Ball World Tour.
Highlights include three songs from the Wrecking Ball album… Daniel Lanois’ “Where Will I Be,” Julie Miller’s “All My Tears,” and Nashville legend David Olney‘s “Deeper Well.” Other tracks pay tribute to Harris’ decades long career, including Rodney Crowell‘s “Ain’t Living Long Like This,” the classic “Love Hurts,” and Harris’ self-penned tribute to Graham Parsons, “Prayer In Open D.” There will be a special screening of the new high-definition video at the Belcourt Theatre on Wednesday, November 5 as a fundraiser for Emmylou’s dog rescue charity, Bonaparte’s Retreat. The doors open at 7PM with the screening beginning at 7:30PM, to be followed by a brief Q&A featuring Emmylou Harris and record producer/guitarist Buddy Miller.
